UP is 'best Indian destination for culture' for Lonely Planet

Uttar Pradesh has been selected as the 'best Indian destination for culture' by prestigious international travel magazine Lonely Planet, an official said on Saturday.

A state government spokesman said Uttar Pradesh was selected on the basis of a conventional survey as well as an online feedback survey conducted by the magazine.

The award would be given to the state at a ceremony in Mumbai on May 9.
