This refers to the editorial "Come clean on water" (March 26). Normally, India should be a nation with adequate water. If, however, some reports caution about the paucity of it, then we need to take required action in time. Drinking water is a necessity, but it is also needed for agriculture and industry. There should be equal distribution of water between these two sectors. While some coastal cities have found a solution by using sea water, other steps such as the recycling of waste water, sewage water treatment, rainwater harvesting, improving sanitation and judicial use of groundwater should be given due importance.
