2 bogies of Trivandrum Express derail; no casualties

Two bogies of the Trivandrum Express derailed at suburban Pattabiraman today but there were no casualties, police said.

The derailment severely affected rail traffic on the route. While some trains scheduled to leave from Chennai Central were delayed, other services were running slow or were halted at different locations, they said.

Rescue personnel rushed to the site and the process was on to restore rail traffic, police said.
