Forty-three people, including 13 women, have been arrested here for allegedly running two flesh trade rackets, police said today.

"Acting on a tip off, a raid was conducted at a private farmhouse in SEZ area and a flesh trade racket busted with the arrest of 12 women and 26 men," Additional DCP West Karan Sharma said.

Liquor, flavoured tobacco and some unsavoury items were seized from the spot. Five men were also found gambling there, he said.

These 38 people were arrested under relevant sections of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act and Excise Act while five were booked under the Gambling Act, the ADCP said.

Police also raided a hotel in Karni Vihar area and nabbed five persons including a woman for allegedly running a sex racket there, Sharma said.

The hotel had no license to serve liquor. Thus 20 people, who were consuming alcohol there, were also arrested, he said.

Besides, the caretakers of both properties were also held, the ADCP added.
