25 sovereigns gold jewellery stolen from VAO's house

A five member gang today robbed a Village Administrative Officer (VAO) and his wife of 25 sovereigns of gold jewellery at knife point at a nearby village here today, police said.

The masked gang scaled the compound wall of the VAO's house at Vanniyampatti this morning, snapped the lock of the door using gas cutters and decamped with the jewels, police said.
