3 arrested with banned medicinal herb in Doda

Police arrested three persons and recovered 17 kg of a rare banned medicinal herb Nag Chatri from their possession in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir today.

After receiving specific inputs, police recovered 17 kg of the banned forest produce Nag Chatri from the possession of three persons while checking Hotel City Saraj in Doda, and arrested the trio on the spot, a police spokesman said.

The arrested persons were identified as Pardeep Kumar, Deepak Arora and Raman Puri of Amritsar, he said.

The trio were found involved in the illegal sale of Nag Chatri in the guise of garment suppliers, he said, adding that a case has been registered in this regard.
