3 govt officials, middleman arrested in bribery cases

Three government officials and a middleman were today arrested in separate cases of bribery, an Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) official said.
In Alwar, Naresh Kumar, an upper division clerk of the Jaipur Discom office, along with a middleman, Gajraj Singh, were arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 14,000 from a shopkeeper, IG ACB Sachin Mittal said.
"Kumar had demanded the bribe for not registering a case against the shopkeeper who was found using more power than the allowed load capacity," he said, adding Singh was facilitating the deal.

After verification of the complaint a trap was laid and the duo was arrested, the IG said.
Junior engineer Abhimanyu Singh, posted under MGNREGA in Pali district's Marwar Junction was caught accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000 to drop a complaint, he said.
In Udaipur, head constable Chandra Shekhar Chaubisa, posted at Jawas police outpost, was arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 700 from one Kalu Lal, Mittal said.
