4 killed in lightning strikes

The three women - Basanti Jena (45) of Raipur, Kalpana Bhakta (24) of Akandi and Kalpana Sasmal (35)of Kainagari villages - were hit by the thunderbolts while working in their fields as a thunderstorm lashed different parts of the district, IIC of Sigla police station, N K Das said.

In another incident, a man identified as Sanjay Majhi of Uluda village in nearby Bhogarai area, was killed after being struck by lightning, police said.
