Five persons were killed and eight others injured when their jeep collided with a tractor- trolley near Khujner town in the district, police said today.
The mishap occurred late last night when the victims were returning to their village Rethani from Jhadmau after taking part in a family function, police said.
After hitting the tractor-trolley, the jeep overturned killing four persons on the spot while one victim succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The deceased were identified as - Gajendra Singh (40), Bharat Singh (35), Manohar Singh (31), Inder Singh (33) and Dhirpa Singh (30), police said, adding that the injured persons were admitted in different hospitals of the district.
A case has been registered against the tractor driver in this regard.
