In a freak accident, a 50-year-old man was killed, when the luggage cabin of a State owned bus suddenly opened and hit him near Aruvangad on the 'Ooty-Coonoor' Road, today.
The man was walking towards the bank along with his friend when the cabin in the side of the bus,coming from Kanyakumari, suddenly opened and hit both of them, police said.
The critically injured duo were rushed to Coonoor Government Hospital, but the 50-year-old man was declared brought dead, they said.
His friend is undergoing treatment there, police said.
