Eight minor girls and three women today escaped from a state-owned rescue home at Yousufguda area here, police said.
"The incident took place in the wee hours. They (girls and women) opened the window grills of the kitchen and escaped," ACP (Punjagutta Division) Venkateshwerlu said.
Among those escaped are two women having children besides minor girls aged around 15 years, he said, adding a case was registered.

During the course of investigation, one girl was traced, the officer said.
Those rescued from streets under Immoral Traffic Prevention Act (PITA) cases besides run-aways are housed in the state home, police said.
