Five minor girls, who were found to be begging were today admitted to a government run shelter, an official of women and child development department said.
"With the help of an NGO - Child Line and police, 5 girls aged between 6 and 14 years who were found begging at different places on MG road have been rescued," Women and Chief Welfare Department' child protection officer Bhagwandas Sahu told PTI.
He said that the girls have been admitted to a government run- shelter home.
They along with their parents will be counselled before admitting them in government school, the officer added.
