84 grams of heroin valued at Rs three lakh in the local market was seized by the anti-narcotic squad from here since Tuesday and two persons were arrested in this connection.
Mizoram Excise and Narcotics department spokesman Peter Zohmingthanga said the narcotic was seized in a joint operation with the anti-drug squad of Young Mizo Association, a prominent non-governmental youth body.
The two youths, who are residents of Aizawl, were arrested for posessing the contraband smuggled from Myanmar.
They were booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, he added.
