9-year-old abducted

A 9-year-old boy was

allegedly kidnapped by unidentified persons from Thana Bhawan town in Shamli district here, police said.

Anas, a class II student, was kidnapped when he was playing outside his house yesterday, SP V K Mishra said.

The culprits later sent a letter demanding a ransom of Rs 10 lakh from vicim's family, police added.

A search operation is underway to find Anas, who is the son of a cattle trader, they said.
