A security guard on duty at Air Force Station at Sulur today allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle, police said.
Praveen, around 35 years, was on security duty at the station gate when he shot himself, they said.
He died on the spot, police said.
The reason for Praveen taking his life was yet to be ascertained as senior Air Force officials could not be reached.
The deceased hailed from Kerala, police added.
