Pavilions of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana -- the two states which were bifurcated early this year -- were inaugurated at the India International Trade Fair here today.

This is the debut for Telangana after the state came into existence post bifurcation this year.

While the Andhra Pradesh pavilion was inaugurated by Additional Resident Commissioner Arja Srikanth, the Telangana pavilion was launched by its Special Representative to Delhi Venugopalachary.

As per the decision taken by the governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the pavilion was apportioned in a such way that the ground floor would be utilised by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and the first floor went to Telangana.

Briefing reporters on the occasion, G Srinivasa Rao, Joint Director, Commissionerate of Industries, Andhra Pradesh said, products manufactured by women Self Help Groups (SHG) are being exhibited in the pavilion to highlight the theme of Women Entrepreneurs.

"The fair is a platform, bridging the manufacturers with consumers. In fact, producers get more orders from customers in the future, as well," he added.

This year, eight government departments and corporations, 25 private organisations, which includes SHGs handlooms, small and medium scale industries are taking part in the fair at the Andhra Pradesh pavilion.

As far as Telangana pavilion is concerned around 30 stalls of various departments and organisations have been opened.
