Two arms smugglers, arrested from Pune, were produced today in a local court, which sent them to jail.
Azeezuddin, a native of Pune, and Lucknow resident Azeez Ahmad were arrested by the Special Task Force of Uttar Pradesh Police on June 2, 1999.
An AK 47 rifle along with 96 cartridges were recovered from the possession of the arrested person, who during interrogation told police about six of their accomplices, IG (law and order) R K Vishwakarma told reporters here.

He said a case of sedition was lodged against eight persons at Hazratganj police station in this regard and police have filed a charge sheet in CJM court in Lucknow.
Vishwakarma said two accused Allauddin and his brother Moinuddin, both residents of Pune, did not appear before the court even after repeated summonses.
