Body of woman doctor found

A woman doctor allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the eighth floor of an apartment building in the posh Saheed Nagar area here today, police said.

The woman, who worked as a gynaecologist with a private hospital here, was found lying on the ground in a pool of blood by residents of the complex this afternoon.

When taken to hospital, the doctor, identified as Swetapadma Mishra, was declared dead on arrival, police said.

The body was sent for post-mortem.

A case of unnatural death has been registered and investigation is on into the death of the woman, whose husband is also a doctor, police said.
