Bastar Lok Sabha seat, which went to polls on Thursday, saw 65 per cent voting despite Maoist threats to derail the poll process.
It is higher than the 59.32 per cent voting recorded in this seat in 2014 Lok sabha poll, an official said.
"Of the 1,879 polling teams, 1,858 have reached the EVM collection centres of their respective areas safely by Friday evening. Rest of the 21 polling teams will be evacuated on Saturday," the functionary at the state Chief Electoral Office said here.
In view of the Naxal threat, polling teams from interior areas are being evacuated cautiously amid tight security, he informed.
As per the latest data available, 65 per cent polling was registered in Bastar Lok Sabha seat, he said, adding that the final turnout may change after all the polling teams return.
The Central observer appointed by Election Commission has reviewed the polling process as per standard guidelines and no error was found in any polling booths, he said.
The poll officials on Thursday evening had said that 57 per cent voter turnout was recorded till 5pm in Bastar.
Polling for 11 seats of Chhattisgarh is being held in three phases.
