Cardamom falls by 0.2% on sluggish spot demand

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Cardamom prices fell by 0.17% to Rs 815 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions, driven by easing demand in the spot market against adequate stocks.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in September month declined by Rs 1.40, or 0.17%, to Rs 815 per kg in business turnover of 10 lots.

On similar lines, the spice for delivery in October contracts shed 60 paise, or 0.07%, to Rs 827 per kg in 108 lots.

Market analysts attributed the fall in cardamom futures to offloading of positions by participants due to decline in demand in the spot market against sufficient stocks.
