: A case has been registered against former Education Minister P M L Kalyananasundaram (AINRC) and two of his supporters for allegedly abusing and intimidating the Commissioner of Oulgaret Municipality M Kandasamy, police said here Thursday.
Kalayanasundaram and his supporters picked up an argument with the civic official over renewal of an agreement to run a reverse osmosis plant belonging to the municipality, the police said.
The municipality did not renew the agreement and entrusted the task of running the plant with local panchayats, they said.
This led to the argument and the former Minister allegedly abused the official and threatened him, the police said.
The commissioner lodged a complaint with the police and a case was registered against Kalayanasundaram and his supporters.
