Press Trust of India New Delhi
Chana prices dropped 1.32 per cent to Rs 4,492 per quintal in futures trade today as participants trimmed exposure, triggered by higher supplies from producing belts at the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in far-month September dropped Rs 60, or 1.32 per cent, to Rs 4,492 per quintal with an open interest of 1,59,500 lots.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in August contracts moved down Rs 47, or 1.04 per cent, to Rs 4,455 per quintal in 33,320 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators amid higher supplies from producing belts against subdued spot market demand pulled down chana prices in futures trade.
