Cottonseed oil eases on subdued demand

Cottonseed oil prices eased by Rs 50 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale oils and oilseeds market today owing to slackened demand.

Castor oil in the non-edible section, also declined due to reduced off-take by consuming industries.

Traders attributed the fall in cottonseed oil prices to weak demand from vanaspati millers against sufficient stocks.

In the national capital, cottonseed mill delivery (Haryana) oil declined by Rs 50 to Rs 5,650 per quintal.

Among non-edible, castor oil eased by Rs 50 to Rs 9,700-9,800 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal):

Oilseeds: Mustardseed Rs 2,950-3,050 and Groundnutseed Rs 2,150-2,900. Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) Rs 930-1,070.
 

Edible oils: Groundnut Mill Delivery (Gujarat) Rs 8,800, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin) Rs 1,600-1,650, Mustard expeller (Dadri) Rs 7,400, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,250-1,300, Mustard Kachi Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,300-1,400, sesame mill delivery Rs 8,000, Soyabean Refined Mill Delivery (Indore) Rs 6,600, Soyabean Degum (Kandla) Rs 6,300, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) Rs 4,250, Cottonseed Mill Delivery (Haryana) Rs 5,650, Palmolein (RBD) Rs 5,600, Palmolein (Kandla) Rs 5,500 and Coconut (per tin) Rs 2,250-2,275.

Non-edible oils: Linseed Rs 8,450, Castor Rs 9,700-9,800, Neem Rs 5,350-5,450.
