Decision on govt taking over Pariyaram Med college soon:CM

Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today said that a final decision on take over of the Pariyaram Medical College in Kannur will be taken very soon.

The government would take steps to take over the college, now under co-operative sector, immediately after getting the report being prepared by the District Collector, he said while inaugurating the Deputy Planning Commission office at Kannur.

The employee strength of the medical college is 1,500. Among them, 250 are on deputation basis after retirement and on contract. The hospital is equipped with 1200 beds.

Speaking at another function got up to felicitate former minister K P Nooruddin for his 50 years in political life, Chandy said ministers and political leaders should be free from corruption allegations.
