District-level judge among six killed in road accident

A 32-year-old district level judge was among six persons killed in a collision involving two cars near Aravakurichi in the district today, police said.

Six others were also injured in the accident, they said.

M Prakash, II Additional District Munsif in Salem District, and five occupants of another car were killed in the head-on collision, they said.

The mishap occurred when one of the tyres of the car in which Prakash was travelling burst and his friend Dr Pradeep Kumar, who was driving, lost control resulting in the collision with the oncoming vehicle.

Prakash and the occupants of the other car- a man, a boy, three women, died while Kumar and five others were injured.
 

Police said the six injured had been admitted to private and government hospitals.
