Engineering firm Black & Veatch today said it has bagged a contract from Swan LNG to deliver critical elements of India's first floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) LNG import terminal in Gujarat.
The project, which involves delivery of the jetty topside and onshore LNG (liquefied natural gas) facilities for the five MMTPA plant at Jafrabad in Gujarat, will help develop the country's gas market, which is projected to be one of the fastest growing in the world during the next two decades, the company said in a statement here.
The new FSRU will be moored to a fixed jetty and regasify imported LNG to enable distribution by pipeline and road tanker and the facility is expected to go on-stream by early 2020, it said.
"The Jafrabad project, along with the Indian Oil Corporation's LNG receiving terminal project at Ennore, signifies the trust placed by the industry in Black & Veatch to deliver LNG projects," said Black & Veatch India managing director Rajiv Menon.
