Employees State Insurance Corporation would complete all its projects of renovating and constructing modern dispensaries, hospitals and offices in Kerala on a priority basis, Minister of State for Labour Kodikunnil Suresh said here today.
Speaking after the inauguration of a state-of-the-art ESIC Medical College Hospital at nearby Paripally by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, he said more such medical colleges would be set up from this academic year in Chennai, Gulbarga in Karnataka and Kolkata.
The modernisation is part of ESI's ambitious Rs 480 crore programme to upgrade its hospitals, dispensaries and offices nationwide to adapt with the changing health delivery scenario in the country and also the best in terms of infrastructure and other facilities.

Chandy, who also spoke, applauded ESIC's efforts for its services to the working class of the state and assured that government would extend full support to the Corporation.
Official sources said ESIC Medical College Hospital at Paripally would initially have 300 beds and later upgraded to 500 beds with modern facilities.
