Fake Maoist held on extortion charge

It is alleged that posing as a Maoist cadre, Roshan Kumar Khora had telephoned the Korput divisional forest officer on October 7 and demanded Rs 10,000 and threatened him with dire consequence if he informed the police.

Following repeated calls, the DFO filed a complaint with the police.

The caller was caught following an investigation and tracking of his mobile phone, Koraput SP Awinash Kumar said.
