Asserting that decentralisation of power and practising 'swadeshi' should be the guiding principles of the state economy, Gujarat Governor O P Kohli today said an "integral approach" is necessary to create a "harmonious" society.
"Decentralisation (of power) and (practising) Swadeshi should be the main guiding principles of the state's economy. People have the potential to change the current scenario and they have to do it from the grassroots level," Kohli said.
"It is high time our society is oriented towards the principles of integral humanism," the Governor said, adding that Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay had also proposed an integral approach to create a harmonious society.
Kohli was speaking at the inauguration of a two-day national seminar on 'Practising Integral Humanism', organised by the Oriental Institute and Faculty of Management Studies in Maharaja Sayajirao University here.
