The sprawling Dhauladhar ranges in Kangra district received mild snowfall while Palampur and other adjoining areas witnessed rain today, breaking the long dry spell in Himachal Pradesh where the mercury dipped marginally.
The sky remained heavily overcast in mid hills including state capital Shimla which experienced showers, causing marginal drop in mercury.
The MeT office has predicted rain or snow at isolated places on December 10 and 11 and dry weather in the region over next six days from December 12.

Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti was the coldest in the state with a low of minus 1.7 degrees Celsius, while Kalpa in tribal Kinnaur district recorded minimum temperature at 1.4 degrees, followed by Bhuntar 2.4, Sundernagar 2.9, Manali 3.0, Solan 5.0, Una 6.7, Shimla 8.0, Dharamsala 10.0 and Nahan 10.9 degrees Celsius.
Maximum temperature dropped marginally and Una was the hottest with a high of 26.6 degrees Celsius, while Sundernagar and Solan recorded maximum at 24.5, followed by Nahan 23.0, Bhuntar 21.6, Shimla and Dharamsala 19.2, and Kalpa 15.2 degrees Celsius.
