Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today instructed all state government officials to leave no stone unturned for making the 12th South Asian Games here a success.
In a statement here, Gogoi said "Though the Organising Committee of the Games should take care of all issues, I being the Chief Minister of the state take the responsibility and direct all government officials engaged in the Games to be on their toes to make the Sough Asian Games a smooth and hassle free affair."
The Chief Minister's direction came close on the heels of media reports that no official was there at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport here to receive the foreign players.

Gogoi said instructions were given not to repeat such shortcomings.
All departments were directed to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Assam along with its handicrafts, tourism potentials and refreshing beauty.
Instructing that care be taken of all logistical issues, transportation, communication, accommodation, etc he directed the Transport Department, Health, PWD and Public Health Engineering (PHE) to take care of the 4,400 sports persons who would be converging in Guwahati for the games.
Further, Gogoi appealed the people of Assam to receive the sports persons and administrators coming from eight countries to spread camaraderie and forge friendly relations so that on their way back to their respective countries, they cherish the warm hospitality of Assam.
