Hand grenade found in govt official's residence

A hand grenade was found at the residential complex of Dipu Gangmei, the Administrative District Magistrate (ADM) of Ukhrul, at Langol Tarung in Manipur's Imphal West district today, a police source said.

The hand grenade was seen by the family member of Gangmei, who then informed Lamphel Police station, the source said.

The hand grenade was removed by the bomb experts of Manipur police and detonated in a safer place.

The cause was being investigated.
