Home Minister Rajnath Singh today spoke to Ranchi Senior Superintendent of Police Prabhat Kumar and enquired about his health after he was injured in an encounter with Naxals.
"I have spoken to Ranchi SSP Prabhat Kumar who displayed exemplary courage while fighting a Naxal group in Jharkhand," he said in a statement.
Kumar sustained bullet injuries during the encounter at Dulmi village on the border of Ranchi and Khunti districts this evening.
He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared out of danger.
The Home Minister also spoke to Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das and Director General of Police D K Pandey who apprised him of the Naxal encounter.
