India in finals of handball men and women

The Indian men and women's teams today entered the finals of the handball event at the 12th South Asian Games with comfortable victories over their respective opponents here.

In the men's section, India outplayed Nepal 51-23 in the semifinals to set up a summit clash with Pakistan tomorrow.

Pakistan beat Bangladesh 46-24 in the other semifinals at the Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education, North East Regional Center at Sonapur.

In the women's section, India thrashed Pakistan 44-23 in the semifinals to set up a summit clash against Bangladesh tomorrow.

Bangladesh beat Nepal 33-28 in the other semifinals.
