Lankan court orders release of 20 TN fishermen

A Sri Lankan court today ordered the release of 20 Tamil Nadu fishermen arrested by the Lankan navy in November last, a functionary of the local fishermen organisation said.

The fishermen belonging to Jegathapattinam of Pudukottai district were arrested on November 20 when they were fishing near Neduntheevu, S Emerite, President of Rameswaram fishermen organisation said.

Mallam court magistrate Gajanithi Balan ordered the release of the fishermen, he said.
