Lead futures shed 0.48%, hurt by muted demand, overseas cues

Lead prices were down 0.48 per cent to Rs 125.70 per kg in futures trade today amid muted domestic demand and bearish global trend as participants trimmed their exposure.
Lead for delivery in August declined by 60 paise or 0.48 per cent to Rs 125.70 per kg in a business turnover of 192 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in September shed 50 paise or 0.39 per cent to Rs 126.50 per kg in 11 lots.
Marketmen said the fall in lead futures was due to a weak trend in base metals overseas and sluggish demand at the domestic spot markets.
