Press Trust of India New Delhi

Lead prices edged down by 0.09 per cent to Rs 168.80 per kg in futures market today as speculators reduced exposure amid tepid demand at the spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in July eased by 15 paise, or 0.09 per cent to Rs 168.80 per kg in a business turnover of 2 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in June contracts shed 5 paise, or 0.03 per cent to Rs 168.45 per kg in 275 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by traders owing to slackened demand from battery-makers in the physical market weighed on lead prices in futures trade.
