Light showers in east UP bring respite to people from heat

Allahabad at maximum 47.7 degree Celsius was the hottest place in the state.

The temperatures were above normal in Varanasi, Faizabad, Lucknow, Bareilly,Moradabad, Jhansi, Agra, Meerut and Kanpur division.

Banda recorded a high of 47.2 deg C, two points above normal, Jhansi and Agra registered 46.3 deg C each, three degree above normal.

Meanwhile, light showers occurred at isolated places over eastern districts which brought the much needed relief to people.
