Maize prices declined by 1.14 per cent to Rs. 1,130 per quintal in futures trading today as participants trimmed positions amidst weak overseas as well as domestic market cues.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, maize for delivery in current month - August contracts - dipped by Rs.13, or 1.14 per cent to Rs.1,130 per quintal, in an open interest of 12,690 lots.
The most-active September delivery contracts fell by Rs.13, or 1.10 per cent to trade at Rs 1,167 per quintal, with an open interest of 33,510 lots.
Marketmen said fall in maize prices at futures trade was due to offloading of positions by participants, taking weak cues from domestic and overseas markets.
