A man was arrested at the Delhi airport after he allegedly used a fake ticket to enter the terminal area, officials said today.

I A Bhat was intercepted by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel yesterday as he was about to leave the Terminal 3 building of the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, they said.

He was stopped and questioned as passengers are not usually permitted to exit the terminal area, the officials said.

Bhat told the security personnel that he used a "cancelled" ticket to enter the terminal area to see off his friend, who was travelling to Srinagar.

The man was subsequently handed over to the police as his ticket was a fake travel document, the officials said, adding that he was booked on charges of cheating, forgery and trespassing.
