One man was killed, while his companion sustained severe injuries when their motorbike was hit by a truck near New Mandi under Dewbad police station in the district, police said here today.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Dehat, Jagdish Sharma, said the incident occurred on G T road near New Mandi.
Zulfkar and his friend, who was riding pilion, sustained serious injury in the accident. While the former died on way to hospital, the latter is battling for his life in hospital, Sharma said.
In another incident, a decomposed body of an unidentified person was found in a drain at Nathmalpur village under Chilkana police station.
The SSP said upon being informed, police arrived at spot, seized the body and sent it for postmortem.
Prima facie, it appears that the victim was murdered and his body was dumped into the village drain, Sharma added.
