Man gets 10 years of RI for sexually assaulting minor

A person was sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for 10 years by a court here today for kidnapping and sexually assaulting a minor girl three years ago.

Additional district and sessions judge of Balasore Ajanta Sarangi also imposed a Rs 9,000 fine on Abhay Kumar Behera of Rahamaganj village.

He would undergo an additional imprisonment of three months if he fails to pay the amount.

Behera had kidnapped the minor girl in 2014 and sexually assaulted her. A case was registered at the Basta Police Station on the basis of a complaint lodged by the victim's parents.
