A man was today arrested for allegedly raping and cheating a 19-year-old girl after promising to marry her, police said.
Anandan promised to marry her and had an affair with her. But when she said she was eight-months pregnant, he refused to marry her, police said.
A case under IPC sections 417 (punishment for cheating) , 376 (punishment for rape) was registered and he was arrested and remanded in custody, police added.
