Man held with cannabis in Doda

A man was arrested with 120 gram cannabis in Bhaderwah tehsil of Doda district, police said here today.

Showkat Ali, a resident of Khara-Gandoh, had come to a jewellery shop yesterday to weigh something concealed in a paper. However, the shop owner became suspicious and opened the paper to find cannabis hidden in it, a police officer said today.

The alert shopkeeper informed the police, who subsequently reached the spot and arrested the accused.

A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Bhaderwah police station and investigations have been initiated, he added.
