Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda brought to Crime Branch HQ

Arrested Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda was brought to the Crime Branch headquarters here today on a three-day remand for interrogation, the police said.

This is for the second time the Crime Branch have taken Panda on remand since he was arrested at Berhampur in June.

Among some 50 police cases against Panda, the Crime Branch is investigating at least 12 cases, including the murder of VHP leader Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati, the police said.
