Pakistan today said the rejection of a landmark case brought against it by the Marshall Islands by the UN's highest court was a vindication of its stance that its nuclear programme was for national defence and security.
The 16-judge bench at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) today dismissed the cases against India, Pakistan and Britain for allegedly failing to halt the nuclear arms race.
"The decision of the court is a vindication of Pakistan's stance that its nuclear programme is a matter of its national defense and security which falls exclusively within its domestic jurisdiction," the Foreign Office said in a release.
