Mentha oil prices fell further by 0.64 per cent to Rs 859.80 per kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in reducing positions amid low demand from consuming industries.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in January shed Rs 5.60, or 0.64 per cent, to Rs 859.80 per kg in a business turnover of 198 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery February traded lower by Rs 5.20, or 0.59 per cent, to Rs 872.60 per kg in 422 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators on low demand from consuming industries in spot market against higher supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh kept pressure on mentha oil prices at futures trade.
