Naxals killed a 50-year-old man from neighbouring Maharashtra in Chhattisgarh's Rajnandgaon district suspecting him to be a police informer, police said today.

The body of Jadhoram Jangi, native of Ranwahi village in Gadchiroli district, was found this morning near the neighbouring Raimanora village which falls under the Aundhi police station area of Rajnandgaon, a police official said.

As per the preliminary information, around two dozen armed rebels abducted Jangi from his house in Ranwahi last night. Later, locals spotted his body near a rivulet in Raimanora.

"Prima facie it appears that he was brutally beaten to death, suspecting that he was working as a police informer," the official said.
