As many as 21 private schools here have been issued show cause notices today for violating Uttar Pradesh's government order which asked them to remain closed due to severe cold conditions in the state.
The notice was issued by the District Inspector of School (DIOS) and Basic Education Officer (BEO).
Following District Magistrate Roshan Jacob's order, the DIOS and BEO have submitted a list of the errant schools for initiating disciplinary action against them.

The state government had ordered all schools to remain closed on December 22 and 23 due to extreme cold conditions in UP, the DM said.
However, as cold conditions continued, it has asked all inter-class schools to remain closed till December 28, he said.
