Over 19,000 arrested in Sri Lanka for drug offences

The 19,057 offenders were in possession of over 12 kilos of heroin, over 51,000 kilos of cannabis, 4 kilos of cocaine, one gram of opium and 280 mgs of hashish.

Under Sri Lankan law, anyone possessing more than 2 grams of heroin is liable to be sentenced to death.
